I ventured out with Sarah and Ryan to Kilgore Falls for their engagement session. I knew right away that photographing their wedding next August at Gramercy Mansion was going to be something special—these two have an incredible sense of adventure and unwavering positivity. We were greeted by breathtaking scenery: rushing water, lush greens, and that soft, golden autumn light. But as we made our way around, we encountered a small hiccup: there was no easy way to cross the river leading to the falls. Undeterred, we climbed up and over a nearby path, turning what could have been a setback into one of the most memorable parts of the day. Their laughter and teamwork made it feel like we were all in on a fun secret, and the resulting photos captured not just their love, but their shared spirit of adventure.

I actually met Sarah and Ryan through another wonderful couple—Erika & Alex—whose wedding I had photographed at Cylburn. It’s always such an honor to see these circles of friendship grow and connect through my work. I’m already looking forward to next summer, when these two say “I do” at Gramercy Mansion. If their engagement session is any indication, their wedding is going to be filled with warmth, laughter, and stories worth climbing a few obstacles for.
